Grant Process Guidelines

• Only organizations operating in Westchester County, New York are eligible to apply for funding from the Elias Foundation.
• Elias Foundation grants are made only to organizations that are registered with the Bureau of Charities and have qualified under Section 501(c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code or have fiscal sponsorship.
• Organizations or projects requesting funding must focus on community organizing for political, economic and social change.
• Organizations that apply for funding must significantly engage community members in organizational governance (or demonstrate a commitment to doing so).

The Elias Foundation makes grants for: general support; community outreach and organizing; capacity building; and special projects. However, there are no restrictions on the type of support we will consider from organizations whose work is consistent with our interests.
